This prickly fellow was snuffling along the base of the hedgerow looking for tasty morsels. The hedgehog has more names than you can shake a stick at, not to mention the Irish name "An Grainneog" which means "little ugly one." In spite of this they seem to be a universally popular garden visitor, perhaps for their propensity to guzzle down slugs!
